{"id":386,"date":"2014-03-14T15:19:22","date_gmt":"2014-03-14T15:19:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aags.azharacademy.org\/old\/?page_id=386"},"modified":"2014-03-14T15:20:09","modified_gmt":"2014-03-14T15:20:09","slug":"hifz","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/aags.azharacademy.org\/old\/hifz\/","title":{"rendered":"HIFZ-UL-QUR\u2019AN STUDIES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At AAGS, all students are offered the option of either studying the Aalimah Studies course, the Islamic Studies course or Hifz-ul-Qur\u2019an Studies (Qur\u2019an memorisation) course. Choosing any one of the three is compulsory for all students. Tuition fees for these courses are currently included in the school fee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hifz Studies:<\/strong> In this course, students commence memorisation of the Noble Qur\u2019an with the aim of memorising either the entire Qur\u2019an or a pre-agreed number of chapters during the course of their enrolment at AAGS. Structured learning targets are set from the start to aid students towards achieving this goal. During a typical school day, students will recite their newly memorised lessons as well as two pre-agreed portions of revision to the teacher. Students are also taught advanced levels of Tajweed during their Hifz course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HIFZ-UL-QUR\u2019AN COURSE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Criteria for enrolment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pupils who would wish to enrol for the Hifz-ul-Qur\u2019an Studies will have to make a firm commitment for the entire period of the course in order to meet their targets consistently. This will, InshaAllah, enable the achievement of completing Hifz of the Noble Qur\u2019an with ease and efficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Pupils will have to fulfil the Hifz-ul Qur\u2019an Studies entrance criteria, which consists of a an oral examination. Prospective pupils are expected to be able to recite the Qur\u2019an fluently as well as demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of Tajweed, such as <em>Makharij<\/em>, <em>Mudud<\/em>, <em>Wuqoof<\/em>, <em>Qalqala<\/em> &#038; <em>Gunnah rules<\/em>. They will also need to provide a reference letter from their previous\/current Qur\u2019an teacher\/institute, who must affirm that the pupil is suitable for enrolment into the Hifz-ul-Qur\u2019an Studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Finally, it is of extreme importance that both parents and the pupil have a clear understanding of the level of commitment \u2013 and significant sacrifices \u2013 that will be required in order to achieve this honour and privilege. Parents and pupils also need to understand that they will need to strike the right balance between the Hifz-ul-Qur\u2019an Studies and the National Curriculum subjects so that their academic progress is not adversely affected due to undertaking the Hifz-ul-Quran Studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In order for a pupil to successfully complete the memorisation of the entire Qur\u2019an, she will be expected to memorise the amounts stated in the chart below on daily basis throughout the Hifz period. These targets may be revised in consultation with the Head of Hifz-ul-Qur\u2019an Studies and the Hifz teacher for pupils who may not be able to complete the entire Qur\u2019an.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Parents should be aware that while they have the choice to select from the available three options, the acceptance of the preferred option is subject to the discretion of the Head of Islamic\/Aalimah\/Hifz-ul-Qur\u2019an Studies.
