{"id":161,"date":"2010-05-06T02:45:21","date_gmt":"2010-05-06T01:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aags.azharacademy.org\/old\/?page_id=161"},"modified":"2021-09-17T08:16:27","modified_gmt":"2021-09-17T07:16:27","slug":"school-uniform","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/aags.azharacademy.org\/old\/school-uniform\/","title":{"rendered":"School Uniform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UNIFORM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The regular AAGS school uniform is:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Navy blue ankle-length abaya with embroidered school logo<\/li>\n<li>Navy blue or black formal trousers<\/li>\n<li>Black school scarf (no tassel, sequins, edgings); headscarves should fall below the bosom and must   always be fastened with a scarf pin and black under cap<\/li>\n<li>Black low-heeled formal shoes (or boots, if required, in winter)<\/li>\n<li>Black\/navy socks<\/li>\n<li>Navy blue, plain, school cardigan (no fancy buttons or decorative elements)<\/li>\n<li>Navy blue or black coat (for use outside the school premises, such as on the way to the PE hall or on educational trips<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Pupils are also expected to wear this school uniform on all educational trips. Trainers are allowed, depending on the trip organised.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The AAGS PE Uniform is:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Navy blue loose full-length bottoms<\/li>\n<li>White\/navy blue full-sleeved, knee-length top<\/li>\n<li>Navy blue scarf (fastened without a pin)<\/li>\n<li>Trainers\/plimsolls- only to be worn during PE lessons<\/li>\n<li>Black\/navy socks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The AAGS Dress Code for a non-uniform day is:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All garments must be formal and suitable to be worn in a formal public setting<\/li>\n<li>Tops should be non-transparent, loose, full-sleeved and knee-length<\/li>\n<li>Trousers should be non-transparent, loose, formal and ankle-length<\/li>\n<li>Shoes must be low-heeled and formal- strappy sandals and peep toes are not allowed<\/li>\n<li>Jeggings\/leggings are not allowed as an outerwear<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whether pupils arrive and leave school by private transport or not, they MUST wear their abaya over their day clothing, regardless.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NB:<\/strong> Hijab buns are against our Uniform &#038; Appearance policy, and hence, not allowed in school.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Niqaab <\/strong><\/p>\n<li>Girls choosing to wear a niqaab and confirmed by parents\/guardians in writing that they do wear niqaab may wear niqaab in presence of a male on school premises<\/li>\n<p><strong> Make-up\/Perfume <\/strong><\/p>\n<li>No form of make-up (nail polish, fake nails, henna tattoos, shiny, tinted lip balm\/gloss, false lashes, mascara, eyeliner) or perfume is allowed to be worn or to be brought into the school premises<\/li>\n<p><strong> Jewellery\/Piercings <\/strong><\/p>\n<li>No kind of jewellery and\/or piercings are allowed to be worn during the school day, whether inside the school or outside it<\/li>\n<li>If necessary, only one pair of small stud-type non-sharp earrings\/nose stud may be worn<\/li>\n<p>In addition to the above, bringing and\/or wearing make up and jewellery at AAGS is strictly prohibited at all times during the school year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>School abaya and PE uniform can be purchased from the school office.
