WORLD BOOK DAY – 5th MARCH 2015
WORLD BOOK DAY – 5th MARCH 2015
Students at AAGS had a memorable day celebrating World Book Day on 5/3/15. The English Department organised a non-uniform day to coincide with World Book Day. Students were encouraged to substitute their school uniform for a costume which represented a great literary character of their choice.
Students had an opportunity to take the persona of a memorable literary character. They we encouraged to wear costumes (and masks) from the literary titan, Roald Dahl; his characters include household names such as: Matilda, The BFG, Charlie Bucket, Willy Wonka, and many more.
This turned out to be a wonderful event as many staff also participated in the dressing up as their favourite character! We look forward to many more such events in the future.
Leading on from World Book Day the school will hold a Book sale on Thursday, 12/3/15. The English Department have organised a book sale as an extension of their activities for World Book Day. This will take place on Thursday, 12th March 2015. Students are encouraged to donate suitable books which are in good condition. The aim is to encourage wider reading through the sharing of books whilst raising money.
